This wildlife research program is one like no other, it is an enriching and unforgettable experience for people that truly desire an up-close and personal experience in the world of conservation. Conservation is more than just a tourist safari. It is getting one’s hands dirty protecting the diverse flora and fauna of the region, absorbing all the senses of what this region has to offer with its sights, sounds and smells; its being enriched by the history of the past and knowing that one can make a tremendous difference for the future by learning and protecting the vast and irreplaceable ecosystem.
Putting all the hard work aside, on your leisure time you can visit the nearby beaches which are breath taking or try shark cage diving! Visit the Addo National Park to do some wildlife watching or try some adrenaline Sports. This project will give you an adventure of a lifetime!
Becoming a volunteer, you will have adventures in all aspects of conservation including researching leopard population, cheetah and elephant monitoring, bird and ecological surveys, analyzing game transects, possibly translocations and releases, hands-on work projects of restoring flora, recording and evaluating data and sustaining the habitat and so much more!

- Who Are They Looking For?
Individuals who have a passion for teaching and a great interest in children, education and willing to give back to the community. Being hardworking, motivated, mature and initiative are some qualities you must possess and living in a remote area must be something you can handle. You must have a good knowledge of English and good communicating skills. We will not tolerate smoking, alcohol or the use of drugs. Please remember that you are a guest, therefore, respecting the rules of the project and the community is essential.

African Wildlife Research - Accommodation
You will be staying in a comfortable farm style house based on a 7,200-hectare reserve. The house is fully equipped with shared bedrooms, a communal lounge and kitchen; as well as an outdoor braai area where you can enjoy relaxing under the trees. Wi-Fi included as well! - Meals
Meals are not provided however; groceries and ingredients will be and volunteers are responsible for preparing their own meals. - Airport Pick + Drop off
You will need to fly into Johannesburg and catch a connecting flight to POLOKWANE (PTG), which is our nearest airport. We will collect you from Polokwane airport and transfer you to the Reserve (this is included in the cost of your program) - just look out for a sign with your name! On departure, we will transport you to the airport and/ or assist with any further travel arrangements. - Ongoing service

- RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring of important species, Mammals surveying & Bird Surveying and Reserve management.
- Ecological surveying.
- Camera trap set ups and checking of photos.
- Game Transects.
- Any other duties given to you by the coordinator.

Day 1 - Arrive in South Africa;

For 2 - 6 Weeks – Volunteer at our African Wildlife Research project.
For a minimum of two weeks you will be volunteering in South Africa contributing your time and efforts towards important conservation and research projects while gaining knowledge through informative lectures and various scientific research methods!
Your last day - You will fly back home or take the opportunity to travel through South Africa. Our staff will gladly help you to book any tours to see more of this great country. - Accommodation
