Being a large city it shopping malls, cinemas, bars and night clubs, while at the edge of the city the huge trees of the Amazon jungle are towering above the residential buildings. Outside Manaus many outdoor activities await, the Amazon river is one of the best places in the world to fish and is home to some of the biggest freshwater fish as well as the Piranha. If you rather watch wildlife there is many places where you can see pink and grey river dolphins, caiman, monkeys and giant bird eating spiders.

"The whole experience was amazing! They were such a loving family and i learned so much being with them. I picked up a whole lot of the portuguese too, which i'm using quite successfully in Paulinia, Sao Paulo, Brazil. If you want the full run down, i kept a log of my travels by posting in a blog everyday - I put a bunch of pictures there too. Anyway, hope you're doing well. We'll chat in person when i return the beginning of september!"
